Training and Consultation

Soldering training and soldering certification courses are taught in accordance with IPC soldering guidelines.

We offer a variety of customized courses set up specifically for our customers' requirements.  An example would be our combination type certificate that includes both lead and lead-free solder certification for those companies that use both technologies.
In addition, we offer a variety of courses for the assembly, rework and repair of printed circuit boards. Courses include:
  • BGA reballing: one-day class covers reballing and inspection for ball grid arrays (BGAs), repairs for BGA pads and solder masks, profile development and heat temperature, how to identify and remove BGA pad oxidation, how to prepare BGAs to reduce moisture and heat damage and the best performing re-balling fluxes on the market.
  • PCB repair services: An inclusive, two-day class for circuit board repairs teaches students how to safely and correctly repair traces, finger contacts, BGA pads, surface mount pads, laminate and plated through holes with removal processes for hot air, thermal conduction and use of a solder fountain.
  • Wiring and terminals: The eight-hour, through-hole soldering training overviews the best practices associated with PCB soldering services through-hole wires, terminals and components.
  • IPC 7095 BGA rework: A two- or three-day optional course enables installing, removing and re-balling BGA components using lead and lead-free solders.
  • Hand solder and rework: A one-daytwo-day or one-week course suits new students to hand soldering or those with basic soldering skills who want to become experts in assembly, hand soldering and rework of complex circuit board components.
  • Soldering skills training: This hands-on skills training focuses on those seeking new employment skills, those learning skills for job advancement and those who need to meet the industry requirements with a certification.
  • Lead-free soldering: A hands-on, lead-free soldering training and certification teaches the skills required to make lead-free solders meet all the PCB assembly requirements and performance standards.
  • IPC-A-610 inspection guidelines: A one-day class is required for quality assurance and assembly department personnel who must meet IPC-A-610F workmanship criteria for electronic assemblies.
  • BGA rework process implementation: The high-tech course teaches how to set up or improve your PCB rework services with the latest stations.
  • BGA rework station operational training: training class for operators teaches skills in accordance with IPC 7095 guidelines on all makes and models of BGA rework stations.
